Due to lack of snow, the snowshoe hike will be replaced by a guided nature walk, and you can participate in one of our snowshoe hikes during the winter season with a 50% discount on the guide fee from January 2 to March 31. New Year's Day hike at Markstein
We will set off from Markstein station and head for the ridges, where we will enjoy panoramic views of the Thur and Florival valleys.
We will go as far as Trehkopf, enjoy some Crémant d'Alsace at the viewpoint, and return through a magnificent forest of fir and spruce trees.
You will discover
➤ The chaumes, alpine pastures in the Vosges mountains that have been used since the Middle Ages to graze Vosges cattle during the summer months to produce the famous Munster cheese.
➤ The flora and fauna of the mountains and ridges, swept by the wind and subjected to extreme weather conditions, leading to the establishment of subalpine plants.
